Hello there!
We are a non-profit permaculture project, building up a forest garden since `98.
We are experimenting with edible plants and methods for self-sufficiency to learn about how to grow foods in alternative, sustainable and stockfree ways.
Interested people can join in for a shorter or longer stay. We do not live together, but we have a small office room in Verden that we share for working and cooking and where up to two guests can sleep.
We organize our food together and offer guests to join in. We can not offer food for free because we don`t make any money with the project but depending on the time and availability we can offer harvested food and also food that we got donated or from dumpsterdiving. Other than that we would welcome if you could support us with food or a little donation up to your capabilities.
We aren`t too fixed on working times since we are all volunteering and trying to be a project that is open for any idea and the peoples` skills and interests. Also work in the garden always depends on time of the year and what needs to be done (this can be e.g. checking protection nets, weeding, harvesting, repairing stuff, scything, gathering and preparing mulch).
The garden itself is near the little village Scharnhorst, another 6km from our office in Verden. Mostly we drive there by bike. We do have some spare bikes in the shed. If you can bring your own bike or car- perfect! If not- don`t worry, we`ll find a solution.

Depending on our dates we're 1-4 persons always in the garden project. Normally we're spending most of our time there. Some of us have fitting official degrees, most don't.

Hello All,from 12.-24.9. we will be opening our forest garden gates for those of you who are interested in working with us, learning together, eating, laughing… and anything else you want to contribute such as playing music and games, telling jokes or stories…?There will be activities such as weeding, watering, fertilizing, keeping competing wild shrubs down, harvesting, grafting, gathering wild herbs, mulching, scything and so on. So there is something for everyone – experienced gardeners as well as inexperienced, heart and soul gardeners, old acquaintances and new faces. There will also be plenty of room for exchange, discussion and hanging out together.The accommodation will be in heated rooms near the forest garden in Verden. The food is vegan and comes from the forest garden, dumpstered or purchased – if you have intolerances or allergies please write that on the registration. If you want something special, you have to bring it yourself or buy it in between.Please note the following:There is only a limited number of places, so if you register you are expected to attend. You can also participate for part of the time. If you are interested, please send us your phone number (there will be another phone call for specific organizational details). We charge a registration deposit.Your own bike or car would be an advantage to get from the accomodation to the forest garden (~6km).You must bring your own weatherproof work clothes.The Waldgarten is a profeminist shelter where boundaries must be respected. Everyone should be able to express their own identities and not be forced into any. Likewise there is no room for homophobia and racism.
