About me

Born and raised in sunny Cape Town, SA, I had a very one-dimensional English upbringing. Moving to Stellenbosch in 2012 to complete my 4 year Civil Engineering degree opened up my life to a whole new culture...Afrikaans. After embracing it wholeheartedly, I am driving by a burning desire to embrace other cultures/languages/countries. Thus begins the adventure of my life as I set off on my travels around the world! About myself? I love to laugh at myself, am outdoor-activity crazed, and find myself eating lunch at the time of day most people are having breakfast. Sports that I enjoy include trail running, swimming and pretty much all ball activities (especially hockey and footbal!). My hobbies include reading, as well as recent forays into cooking and gardening!

Skills

Having just finished my civil engineering degree, I have a natural affinity world of construction. Unfortunately, my 4-year theory-based degree has left me with fleeting hours of practical construction and engineering experience...So, while my practical experience may be limited, my 4-year struggle has provided me with the tools of quick thinking and problem solving.
On the other side of life, university holidays left me very much cash strapped... Thus, I entered the world of hospitality, bar-tending and waitering for a number of events based companies during holidays for the last four years. I'm pretty sure it was my unwavering smile and infectious enthusiasm that led me to success in those two fields

I am not a smoker, I have a drivers license, I am not a vegetarian and I have no allergies.

I am a morning person through to the core, bordering on the point of annoyance!
