Im a 32 years old, from Switzerland and single, no kids. After studying journalism I worked in this area for five years and intent to continue doing so as I travel. I have lived in the USA and Germany before my studies as well. I do like my profession but I want to spend my money, not only earning it. Therefore I'm taking a break from my normal life and want to travel Asia for as long as it pleases me. 6 months, 2 years...I can't say. Asia because I know nothing about it and want to change that. I like volunteer work because I want to get in contact with locals, learning their behavior, their culture. And also because I live a privileged life and "want to give something back".
My hobbies are hiking, running, reading, watching tv and writing.
Starting in March, I will travel across Asia for 1-2 years. First visiting St. Petersburg, afterwards heading east, north, south, with no particular targets and timeframe. Flowing with the wind, as the saying goes. Listening to locals what to visit and when. Looking for volunteer work to get to know the culture.
I work as a journalist, speak german (native), french, english and a very little russia (which I intend to improve at the beginning of my trip). I have to admit I'm not too skillful with my hands, therefore bulding smtg. is not my strength. But I would, as all other things, try as hard as I can to do the best I can. Have experience with children, pets, and help in the house. No preferences in work whatsoever, would be nice if I could do lots of different things though. Only restriction: I'm afraid of hights. Therefore sherpa eg. is not an option.
I am not a smoker, I have a drivers license, I am not a vegetarian and I have no allergies.
