About me

I'm Luz del Rosario Ortiguerra from Manila, Philippines. I am an alumna of Adamson University, Manila, Philippines,where I completed my Bachelor of Science in Education, major in English. I have earned 21 units of Master of Arts in Education, School Management & Suervision.
I have been in the teaching profession for almost 38 years now. I have handled junior high school for year in Saipan, most of my teaching years in high schoo teaching in the Philippines, Yap, & Palau. & 10 years of college teaching in a university & hospital in the Philippines.
At present, I enjoy my teaching here in MIcronesia (Yap) but there are times when I feel like trying other islands.
In teaching World Geography, which is the subject assigned to me now (for almost 6 years), I been enjoying teaching all the countries of the world to students using technology, but sad to say, I've never visited these places yet in reality. So, if given a chance, I would gladly & happily offer my teaching services to any of these countries, especially, the Pacific Islands first. Thank you for your time in giving me a chance to share with you my hopes & dreams.

Skills

Eventhough teaching has been my job eversnce i graduated form college, I worked also as a research editor in an advertising company few months before I graduated.
As a teacher of high school & college, I was involved with so many extra-curricula activities like theater arts, coach for different literary contests like for example reader's theater, stage plays, acting, speech contests like choric interpretation, dramatic monologue, debate, spelling bee etc.. In both high school & college, I also handled remedial classes & Speech lab classes, and a CRT (classroom resource teacher) for transitional program/ Special Ed classes.
I was also involved in syllabus/scope & sequence/curriculum aligment for English & Social Studies.
I was also a critic teacher for practice teachings & also had a chance to chair two different departments: English & Social Studies.

I am not a smoker, I have a drivers license, I am not a vegetarian and I have no allergies.
