Gold winner at WTM London for the best animal welfare initiative, at Hetta Huskies we are truly dedicated to caring for our 250 sled dogs. From summer construction projects to winter kennel maintenance, weekly dog medical checks to building up our dogs' fitness for winter, our internships provide a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn what it takes to manage a large-scale dog sledding business.

Hetta Huskies is owned and operated by Anna McCormack and Pasi Ikonen, both former professional athletes / explorers.
Both Anna and Pasi went through a training course to allow them to guide in the National Park and Pasi, in particular, spends countless hours each month working towards the regional development of their small corner of the world.
We have a rented house for guides and interns separate from the farm, half-way between the farm and the town of Hetta. There are three rooms with bunks that provide space for up to 4 people in one room, and we can provide bed linen. The house includes a living room + kitchen area, Wi-Fi, bathroom + shower.
Lunch is provided during the work hours at the farm house. The guide house is stocked with very basic breakfast and dinner foods.
