About the workproject

We need 1 volunteer

As well as shearing, drenching, shifting, and feeding out to cattle and sheep.
Most of the Feeding Out is in winter months as well.
We hand rear approximately 100 beef calves to farm on for 2 years. Have approximately 60 Hereford breeding cows that calve in July and August and 1000 breeding ewes.
Over the last 6 years we have preserved native forest and planted approximately 70,000 more young native trees. I also try to grow about 2000 natives, to plant in the winter months.
This means releasing young trees and replacing any trees that have died. Upkeeping pest weed and rodent control and checking fences for tree fall or stock breaches.
We have horses for farm riding, quad bikes for farm use which will only be used by people with expert levels of competence.
There are extensive areas of hills and bush to hike over, magnificent views and we bounder on to the world renowned Maungatautari Sanctuary Mountain.

Frank and I have been together for 20 years. We share a love of farming, horse riding, exploring on our mountain bikes, and socialisin with friends and family.
Our aims for the future are to have a full sized vegetable garden, travel (especially in NZ) and keep up with every day chores on the farm.
