About the workproject

We need 6 volunteers

The IFLS School incorporated with EIC was founded in 2016 by Mr. Kreng Huy, an Cambodian Teacher of English language. Our vision was to give underprivileged Cambodian children the tools to build themselves a better future by providing them with free English language classes – an area which government schools lack in despite the English language being in such high demand. Together, Kreng opened their own school in the Cambodian city of Cambodia, where it was managed by both founders until Kreng passed away in 2016. Since then, we have been managing all operations of the IFLS School, with the help of volunteers from around the world.
Students, Teachers and Volunteers
The school currently accommodates around 100 pupils. They are taught by three teachers, many of whom are volunteers who share Kreng vision. To aid the teaching of English, IFLS invites English-speaking volunteers from around the world to take part in the project. The volunteers support the students learning through practising conversation and occasionally by leading classes. They also offer help in other areas such as business, marketing, development of the school grounds and IFLS Tours.
IFLS Tours
In July 2017, sponsorship funding for the school is due to end. This means that IFLS will have to become completely independent. In order for the Director, Kreng, to fund the project himself, he has ventured into the travel and tourism industry. IFLS now runs bicycle and motorcycle , offering an authentic taste of Cambodian life to tourists in Takeo . The launch of IFLS tours also provides older IFLS students with work and experience of using their English language skills.
Improving children for a brighter future!
IFLS (International Foreign Languages School ) is an English language school providing underprivileged Cambodians with greater opportunities in life. In Cambodia, students who don’t speak English cannot progress through to higher education or enjoy higher paying jobs. Despite this, government schools teach very little English and many teachers charge a high price for extra hours of learning. Most families cannot afford these prices and therefore the child’s education suffers. Since 2016, the IFLS School has been providing free English language classes to Cambodian children of all ages, so that they can look forward to a brighter future. Based in the Cambodian city of Takeo, the school now has around 100 students, 5 teachers and hosts a range of volunteers from around the world.
