About me

I am fun loving, open and honest. I don't like to be taken advantage of and believe in respect for all people, animals and things. I am very social, but love to walk alone in the countryside or woods. I strive for balance in my life. I am travelling alone for the first time in a very, very, long time, having reached a point in my family life where a bit of freedom is possible. I am opening up to new adventures and will begin leading a community choir in the fall. I am committed to all kinds of volunteerism in my own community on the west coast of Canada, so it is a naturally fit for me to seek it abroad.

Preferred location

I am travelling to Scotland for the first time in my life this summer and am thrilled! I am a mature woman, non smoker, who is fit, creative and driven. I am an excellent child care provider, having worked in that field most of my life. I am a great cook. I am willing to help with gardening, landscaping, house restoration, animal care, sales and promotion, writing and design. You can give me a project and I will get it done! My only dilemma is I have some committments already, so am hoping for a shorter stay of 1 week or so. But that week, dear hosts, will be a game changer! I want to be in Edinburgh area during Aug 14-21 (or a bit longer), and rural Scotland Aug 1-13. Will consider flexible dates. Am leaving Aug 22 from Glasgow area. Oh, and I love to sing! And talk! And walk! And create! And... oh, please get in touch and let's have fun!

Skills

I am very practiced, patient and loving with children and understand stages of early childhood very well. I am a good gardener, able bodied and have a good knowledge of planting, harvesting, preserving. I am a writer, storyteller, singer, healer, and creator of some skill. (These are my passions and it is hard to brag about the level of skill, but I am more than competent!). I have an eye for design. I am a skilled and personable speaker (Toastmasters CC), am comfortable with public, am able to convey ideas clearly. I have sales and marketing skills. I am self directed, mature, committed.
