About me

I grew up in a restaurant and hospitality lifestyle form the age of 10. At 21 I took on a leasehold for my own restaurant. At 26 I went travelling by motorbike alone around Europe. I then retrained in adult nursing, transferring to mental health for a year (which gave me excellent training in dementia care / elderly care / understanding of trauma / importance of nutrition and self care). I left in my final year to take care of my friend who was diagnosed with an 'incurable' cancer at this time. My marriage subsequently broke down, I left to start a new life with the small amount of money I have in Sri Lanka last year, returned home for a two week visit in March and have become indefinitely stuck on this side of the world back in the cold with nowhere to live. I have only a small group of friends here who I came to visit for a fortnight, and I feel I have imposed on their lives enough. I cannot afford my own place over here, winter is coming.
I realised that it is a possibility to help others out by house sitting, or pet sitting, and I feel I am the woman for that job.
I don't have much money for travel so I am Ideally looking for somewhere to go and help out for at least a month (as I also need time to plan where I will move onto afterwards.
I am extremely sensitive and still overcoming PTSD from a trauma that resulted in my ribs being broken last year. I am hoping for a calm and relaxed environment, where I can help you and still maybe have time to try to relax and feel safe, and write the book that will help the world to heal smile
I am naturally optimistic in spite of many reasons not to be! I try my best to see what I have learned rather than endured and keep a positive vibration. Due to my living situation I am becoming increasingly stressed out and need to change this. I am waiting on Sri Lanka opening her borders, but if meanwhile I can help you out, and you can provide me a (sunny?!) safe haven, then `I would love to hear from you.
I should also mention, that I love gardening. I don't have the knowledge of gardening in a hot climate, but I definitely can learn and I am keen to. I have a love of nature, the ocean and water especially, and I have a special affinity with cats. I have limited experience with horses - only two horses I have assisted leading to and from stables and feeding in the past. One was an 18 hand male with the most gentle nature, the other an old and sweet female. Both were extremely easy to work with.

Preferred location

Right now I am in Scotland and open to travelling anywhere that is not corona and visa restrictive.
