About me

I can apply to volunteer alone, although ideally we would find a host that can take both me and my partner, Paul.
We are taking a break from work to volunteer and travel in South America to improve my Spanish and develop our skills.
We love nature and wildlife and keen to help out in any conservation projects.
We have a 10 acre block of land in Tasmania and have plans to build a sustainable lifestyle there. So we are particularly interested in helping out hosts that need help with building a sustainable dwelling, permaculture, renewable resources and conservation projects.

Preferred location

South and Central America

Skills

I am a food safety consultant with my own food production business in Australian native bushfood.
Paul is a sourdough baker and chef. He grew up on a dairy farm and he is bloody strong!
We both have experience in basic DIY tasks (having renovated our house ourselves).
I have volunteered via Hovos before in QLD, Australia helping a single mother build a self sustainable home and start a natural ingredient organic beauty product business.
I have also volunteered with Australian Bushfire relief, helping landowners affected by fires rebuild their buildings, tend to their animals and re-fence their land.

Additional info

I am not a smoker, I have a drivers license, I am not a vegetarian and I have no allergies.

We prefer a vegetarian diet but will be flexible to suit the host. However, we are very conscious about the food we eat and how it is sourced, and are happy to source our own food if need be.
