About me

Hello! I am Camille, independent designer currently carrying out a project in Japan.
I highly value authentic & immersive experience and I am truly convince that this can only happen thanks to meeting local people and live the local way.
I am going all around Japan to meet and interview Japanese craftspeople for The Dorayaki Project that I created (https://dorayakiproject.com/). I believe that craftsmanship can be a model for the future and I am taking inspiration in Japan where craftsmanship is of paramount importance in the culture.
From March 2018 to May 2018, I am staying at MORIUMIUS (http://moriumius.jp/en/) in Miyagi prefecture as an artist-in-residence.
I already had a great experience as a worker last summer in Denmark - I was working at an ice-cream shop on a tiny island!
As a designer, I value quality interpersonal relationships and I always try to make life a little funnier, smarter and easier.
I love cooking (and drinking wine!) and I will be happy to cook French dishes at my hosts' place!

Preferred location

I am travelling for one year all around Japan with working-holiday visa. I am pursuing a self-initiated project about Japanese craftsmanship.
