About me

I am a young South African student, set to graduate from the University of Cape Town at the end of 2016 with an undergraduate degree in Economics and Organizational Psychology (majors) and Media and Writing (minor).
I am hungry for an education beyond that which the formal curriculum has to offer me: I would like to experience different cultures in the most authentic way possible.
I can offer the following skill set in exchange for the experience of a world completely different to that I am used to.
My skill set is as follows:
Social Media Management:
I am currently the Social Media for the University of Cape Town’s official newspaper (est. 1940), VARSITY. My task is to create and publish content onto Twitter and Facebook approximately ten times a day.
In line with this, I can offer to grow your Social Media following through creating and publishing content onto your existing Social Media pages; as well as establishing and linking other Social Media platforms (i.e. Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat) to existing ones (i.e. Facebook).
Marketing:
I was the Marketing Assistant at a high-end online furniture store (Vintage-etc), whereby I managed the online store (powered by Wordpress) and compiled blog posts and newsletters (via MailChimp).
In line with this, I can establish a blog for you; creating and curating content, as well as composing emails via MailChimp; which can be sent to a database of 7 000 or more. Here is the link to my blog: www.demnutsonline.com
IT:
I have completed a first year level (half semester) University course in Information Systems. I am therefore proficient in using Excel to manage spreadsheets containing a large amount of information.

Communication:
In September 2015, I, along with two other University students, gave a fifteen-minute presentation at a Round Table Conference hosted by Duke Corporate Education as well as The Boston Consulting Group. Attendees included Human Resource Executives from Standard Bank, Rand Merchant Bank, BMW and The Foschini Group.
Through this experience, I was able to practice my public speaking skills. I thus believe myself to be an excellent orator and can articulate to customers in a highly proficient manner.
To this end, I am able to offer a strong ability to interact with people as well as with customers.
Tutoring, Babysitting and Auparing:
I have tutored pupils from the ages of 12-18 in the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry Mathematics, English and Accounting.
I have also had experience in babysitting and aupairing.
This has once again enhanced my communication skills as well as customer interaction.

I am not a smoker, I have a drivers license, I am not a vegetarian and I have no allergies.
