About me

Hello, i am happy you take some time to read my intruduction as a helper. i am Born and grown up in de south of the Netherlands. At the moment of writting i work as a senior youthcare mentor in a youthprison.
Not many people go to work, to do a job like mine, every day. It’s unpredictable and no day mirrors the day before. I didn’t always want to be a social worker, I don’t think many people do. I doubt it makes the list when children are asked what they want to do when they grow up.
I studied social work University of professional education.
Since 2009 i did diffrent jobs as social worker; sport and resistance-trainer for children, mentor for disabled children (mental retardation), indicator for decentralized government and in a preventive detention for disabled people (primary: mental retardation, secondary: Psychological constraints).
My interest: SPIRITUAL: deep and personal connecting with people, motivate people with positive vibritions (coaching). I enjoy yoga and meditation and would like to learn more about it. Would like to learn en know more about Buddhisme and want to figure out how to intervene this in my life! I love animals and gardening!
In November 2016 i was in Nyeri, a small town in the middle of Kenia helping to build a orphanage for homeless children, and this changed my life! I, again, found out this was the reason why i became a social worker! This is what i want to do more in the future: exploring, the world, the Spirituality of Religions, people and myself!
"Being a social worker isn’t something you just do at work, it’s not a uniform you put on each morning and take off at night. Being a social worker is ingrained in you, it is a value base embedded within. I walk into people’s lives and make a difference. It is my job to ensure that is a positive impact, even when at first I may not be welcome"
