About me

Looking to start in 2018 - February to whenever......
Hello. I am Rachel, a Registered Veterinary Technologist with over 15 years experience with a very responsible, trustworthy, respectful attitude.
I grew up in a small town in Kamloops, British Columbia but as soon as high school graduation was finished my desire to travel took over. I have travelled to many countries including Africa, SE Asia, Europe, India, most of the USA, and recently finished a two year sailing adventure around the South Pacific.
My love of animals helped my decision in seeking a career working with animals and in 1999 I completed a Veterinary Technologist program. This enabled me to go to Guam for a year and help out animals that were less fortunate than the ones we find in North American. My compassion deepened even further for animals while I was helping save these animals and only confirmed that I always wanted animals in my life. After Guam I chose to move to the island of Maui in Hawaii where I spent about 7 years working in a veterinary hospital. I lost my incredible, one of a kind, love of my life kitty a few years ago and while I am not ready to adopt another one I tend to lean towards loving other people's furry ones as if they were my own.
Those that know me would consider me a very reliable, hard working, kind, easy going, trustworthy, and caring person. I am social and like to go out for drinks occasionally, but I am not a party girl. I am someone who enjoys a quiet atmosphere, and truly enjoys the company of pets, which is why house sitting works great for me. I also love to garden and don't have one of my own so if you need weeding done or any clean up around the house I would love to do it!
While I was in Hawaii I also worked for a lady who was a caretaker for high end homes on the island of Maui. She entrusted me with care of some of these homes which involved detail cleaning, landscaping, gardening, and entertaining their dogs.
