About me

I really enjoy working with animals and any job where I can chat with my coworkers and/or listen to music. I like solving problems, and while I really appreciate quiet, I quite enjoy hectic and fast paced work environments.
I read a lot, and find just about everything interesting. There is always something to talk about. I'm also into just about any kind of game; I'm into Chess and various board games and when I work with kids I invent a lot of games with them. Also very much into movies, science fiction, comic books.
I usually prefer to walk from place to place when I can. I spend a lot of time experimenting with food, and like to bake bread, brew kombucha, and make my own yogurt and I kefir when I can. I haven't had a lot of success with saurkraut for some reason, but I'm working on it.
I really dont' mind the rain, but in my travels I've spent a lot of time being wet and cold, so I really appreciate things like dry socks and sunshine.

Preferred location

My plans are quite flexible, and I would happily bring myself to any place with an interesting opportunity. My current trip is quite open-ended, so opportunities in the slightly distant future would still be a possibility.

Skills

I have a somewhat varied work background. I have worked as a research scientist and a high-rise window cleaner, and spent a season working on a low-tech farm (permaculture), worked qutie a bit with exotic animals, spent some time as the volunteer coordinator for a medium-sized NGO and most recently have worked in childcare with children between the ages of 3 and 12 yrs. This includes work with children that have a variety of special needs.
I have worked extensively as a teaching assistant and tutor, for education levels ranging from elementary school to university (most subjects up to/including 2nd year university).
I have a considerable background in Wrestling (freestyle), and spent a decent amount of time as a referee and an assistant coach (mostly high school level) in that sport.
