About the workproject

We need 4 volunteers

PermEco Inc. is a registered not for profit organisation providing education, training and research aimed to create a more sustainable future for our communities and our planet. We operate from the Kendall Permaculture Farm, an almost self sufficient farm growing a variety of different plants, trees, vegetables, fruits, nuts etc. The farm also has cows, goats, chickens, dogs and cats.
We are looking for volunteers willing to go the extra mile in order to learn about Permaculture, Syntropic Farming, self sufficiency and regenerative practices. Days are long, the learning is intense and you will be tired but have a sense of achievement at the end of the day. In the average day you may milk a cow, put up electric fencing, make or move compost, feed our biogas bio-digester with cow manure, feed animals, harvest and help make up food boxes, dig garden beds, process harvested produce, separate cream, weed and seed, plant seedlings, chop and drop in the food forest and much more. You will experience a variety of jobs every day, as well as some routines that are common to every day. Find out more at permeco.org.

Today

We are Tom and Zaia Kendall. Tom is an international Permaculture Teacher and Consultant, comes from a broad acre farming background and is an incredibly hard worker. Zaia is an administrator, cook, web developer and musician. In 2012 we founded the not for profit Permaculture Research Institute Sunshine Coast Inc, which is now PermEco Inc. We aim to help educate and train as many people as possible in Permaculture, self reliance and sustainable living and provide most of our services by donation. As such we are unable to pay people money for their work, however people learn a lot when they are at the farm. We love living simply so we simply live. Tom always says he doesn't have a job, he has a life. It is a life of hard work, but it is very satisfying. We hope you will come and join us!
