About the workproject

We need 1 volunteer

We are a small animal rescue and sanctuary, located just an hour's drive from Dublin city. We have over 200 animals to care for, some have complex medical issues, and are not suitable for rehoming, so they live out their days in peace and comfort here in the beautiful Kildare countryside. Horses, dogs, cats, pigs, sheep, goats hens and other poultry all require daily care. We ask helpers to stay at least one month, to reduce stress for the animals, who like to see familiar faces every day. We are a registered charity in Ireland.

I run the animal rescue and sanctuary from my home. We are a registered charity, and we operate a no-kill policy. We receive no government funding, and have to fundraise constantly to carry on our work. We have a small team of volunteers who fundraise in Dublin city, and our helpers often come with us to do this. We have more than 200 animals and birds here, and the work in caring for them can be quite demanding, but so rewarding. We specialise in rescuing commercial egg laying hens due for slaughter and rehoming them all over Ireland.
