About the workproject

We need 6 volunteers

I own a small 5 acre property on the Rio Grande river in Portland Jamaica ( not the other Rio Grande). I am constructing a Earthbag house from foundations up. This will not be a earthbag dome but a 3 bedroom house to be lived in. We will start from the foundation to roof and will include earth plaster and floors. I have done earthbag building before but this house will be my first complete project. I have a lot to teach and I’m sure there is a lot I can learn from you. I am planning for the building to take 2 months however this is not set in stone and I am flexible.

I'm a non smoker, I am mostly plant based diet but with fish added. I have an avid interest in permaculture and sustainable living as well as building with natural ,materials i.e. bamboo and adobe. I have worked on an earthbag project before so I do have knowledge and experience to pass on. I love videography, photography, art and have spend time traveling with my partner since taking early retirement. My dream has been to build this eco off the grid retreat and this is the start.
