Finca Del Soul is a 13-acre farm surrounded by the beautiful Maya Mountains in central Belize, comprised of approximately 9 acres of citrus, a seasonal stream, and backing to jungle land with a limestone wall with several small but special caves. The land features mature and bearing (many depending on season): bananas, plantains, lime, coconut, mango, avocado, breadfruit, mamey sapote, papaya, sugar cane, cassava, taro, hot pepper, and more m. We are also growing and giving nature it's time to produce several more of the above along with pineapple, guava, guinep, rambutan, passion fruit, pomegranate, sapodilla, cherimoya, jackfruit, loquat, and more. Our focus is on sustainable organic fruit farming and permaculture as well as some small-scale vegetables using no-dig gardening and other sustainable practices.
We currently use solar energy, rain water catchment, and very basic living practices, and we are interested in installing a well as well as building some simple structures to house guests, volunteers, and participants in educational retreats focused on sustainable off-grid living.
Work would include maintenance of existing fruit trees, including reduction of grasses and other competitive species, pruning, and mulching, prepping and planting new gardens or trees, transplanting propagation, etc. Other projects could include building structures, well installation, road improvement, and general maintenance.

Greetings HoVo'ers 
We made a move to Belize in search of a simple life with the primary intent of growing as much of our own food as possible. We like to work hard and have fun, and we don't drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes, or eat animal products. Brian is usually at the farm and Aisha visits when she can, but either way we enjoy good company and intend to create a memorable experience for you here in the tropics.
Choose between a two-person tent with rain fly or a room inside the home. There is an outdoor outhouse, solar showers, and a stream nearby for swimming and washing. We also enjoy low-key acoustic jams for those with musical inclination.
We eat a mostly raw and fruit diet but usually cook a nice plant-based meal on the fire heart each night, which is shared with volunteers. There is a small village a few miles away that offers basic provisions and services as well as some simple places to eat.
We value the concept of a work-trade economy and prefer to stay away from money. Labor is inexpensive in Belize, this is more of an opportunity to learn, explore, help improve the land, and engage in some stimulating conversations.
