Health Relief Intl (HRI) is aNon - Religious, Non - Political and Non , Profit Organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving sufferings through health care interventions, training, relief and development programs.

HRI is also an establishment of volunteer medics and other health related disciplines with over 40 years of accumulated experience in the humanitarian sector.
In Kenya, we are currently working with both the National and County governments towards building greater, enhanced, efficient and resilient communities and institutions able to withstand and recover from public health emergencies.

HRI has specific experience in the implementation of sustainable integrated community Health programs around the World. In Kenya HRI has Presence in Tana River, West Pokot, Baringo, Taita Taveta and Kwale Counties. The experience of HRI is underscored by a wider commitment, to strengthening community resilience and Girl child and women empowerment, through the establishment of community structures like Self Help Groups, Youth Groups and empowering communities through support for the most marginalized. Furthermore, HRI as an organization is well experienced in working with Governments, especially in the area of Strengthening Public health systems, Public Health Safety and emergency medical response.

Our community focused, volunteer first responder capacity building programs, helps the public understand how they can care for themselves during an emergency, and ensuring resources are invested where they are most needed
HRI’s programs combine both social and economic interventions that contribute to sustainable development that benefits the community as a whole, and especially the children. Special attention is devoted to subjects such as the position of girls and women, children and young people with a disability, HIV/AIDS and children’s rights.

HRI and Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, The Ministry of Health and the County Government of West Pokot, is currently implementing a Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) ACCELERATE program in West Pokot County. The program has been designed to complement the Kenyan Government’s efforts, in contributing to Sustainable Development Goals,
Specifically GOAL 6 (Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all)
Program Indicators Include:
I. Proportion of households using safely managed drinking water West Pokot County by Aug 2018
II. Proportion of population using safely managed sanitation services, including a hand-washing facility with soap and water and in 125 Primary Schools in North Pokot Sub County
III. % reduction of morbidity and mortality cases are attributed to watery diarrhea in West Pokot County
IV. % decrease of households practicing open defecation in North Pokot Sub County.

My Name is Lotern Brown
Am the Country Director of a Charity organization called Health Relief International (HRI) a fully registered Charity under the NGO board in Kenya . Currently working in the poorest parts of the Country , HRI has several programs including, Women empowerment where hundreds of women have been trained and supported to run small businesses. HRI also runs a girl child empowerment program targetting girls of reproductive age from poor backgrounds. We also conduct free medical camps including emergency medical response training to government and local Institutions. We are also in the process of building a girls rescue center to help many girls who wants to free themselves from the bondage of early child marriage and Female Genital Mutilation.

With over 12 years in the humanitarian sector, am passionate about making a lasting change to thousands of poor communities , men and women including children who lack basic opportunities and services that many of us would often take for granted.
I believe we both have an opportunity to make the World a better place. There is no black or white or Yellow or green! We are both humans and therefore we got to support and help our brothers and sisters.

Depending on the site of the project, Health Relief International often will a range for a comfortable accommodation in a secure environment depending on the volunteers need (s). Options range from the ones mentioned above. We guarantee that our volunteers will enjoy their stay

Volunteers are encouraged to take care of their on meals , though our staff will be willing to help in whichever way. Some of our field offices have Kitchen where volunteers and staff are always welcome to fix meals or breakfast
