About the workproject

We need 2 volunteers

Helper required for accommodation preparation and work on computer and person required for general farm work and constructions works
We're fencing for the goats. We're building a 'Castle for 'King Billy', our prize goat !
There is a variety of ongoing work in progress here at the moment including gathering firewood, fencing, gardening, building a shed and Horses. I have just started wood carving and shaping. It is so relaxing. Maybe we can sell some pieces in the Summer ! I've also made some pottery items. Also so relaxing, and satisfying. I would love this place to become an artists centre. Different people doing different jobs, creations, stuff etc !
Accommodation is included for Free for All Helpers. ( But we also have Hostel type accommodation for people who wish to just stay and learn english, without working !)
Training Our main occupation is working on the farm. It is an ongoing process of continual improvement and development. Our dream is to have a totally organic, self sustaining homestead. We want to grow as much food for the animals and people as is practicable. There is vast scope here for like minded people to push out the barriers and to create a little bit of heaven here in this part of Ireland.

Then we also have the Hostel and Holiday Cottages which can be quite busy at times !
Last, but not least is the Visitor Farm side of things which we hope to really develop further , with school tours, groups, family visitors etc
Then there is the burgeoning coffee shop and sweets and crafts which will be up and running this year hopefully. We sold lots of ice cream sweets etc last year.
Your help in any of the foregoing will be very much appreciated, but if you are strictly for organic stuff, then it is ok for you to concentrate on the gardens and orchards which we are developing. Already we've used the pigs to rotovate the ground with their snouts, and they've made a great job of it. We got a small crop of spuds and kale and some onions last year. We've just got a few fruit and apple trees, but with help and imagination we can do up a lovely permanent orchard.
We also want to make our own gas from the pig manure.
We have just started work on a solar collector.
