About the workproject

We need 2 volunteers

YOU MUST READ THE FOLLOWING:
My name is Johanna.
Nine years ago I emigrated from Austria to Panama.
I wanted to build a new life far away from the materialistic driven world that I used to live in.
I purchased a 50 hectare chocolate farm on the island of San Cristobal in Bocas Del Toro Panama.
The front portion of my property was mainly overgrown jungle and wetland of which I dried out by digging various streams and ponds.
The result was that of an ecological farm.
It has allowed me to live a self-sustainable lifestyle.
If you are interested in working hard and learning how to live sustainable and in harmony with nature you are welcome.
I live on an island.
My farm is not easily accessible at times due to weather as of course you have to cross ocean to get here and it is typically a 40 minute boat ride.
Life is precious here.
It is a lot of work and we must rely on each other. We take that very seriously. The hospital is not around the corner, nor is the local mini mart or grocery store.
We live in the jungle and right by the sea.
You have to be prepared to not just work hard but work smart and do what is necessary when it is necessary as sometimes things come up and we all have to pitch in.
Common sense unfortunately is not common
This lifestyle is not for everybody.
If you are considering coming here you must be able to think on your feet, have survival skills, a strong mentality and a true desire to learn about another way to live an independent, free, off the grid lifestyle.
Here you can also learn about the indigenous lifestyle, how to make chocolate, and maintain chocolate, banana and plantain plantations, among the various other fruits we grow and vegetable gardens that I have planted.
There is an art to surviving in a challenging environment between the pristine jungle and the sea.
As mentioned over the last nine years a great majority of the original wetlands and plains were turned into lush gardens.
I am proud to say we now also harvest papayas, passion-fruit, pineapples, coconuts, and a myriad of other fruits and vegetables of which are all organically grown.
The great majority of my property remains an untouched tropical forest, which gives home to innumerable species of birds, mammals and amphibians.
You may need luck and patience to spot some of them, but our horses, sheep, cats and dog will be happy to have you around.
Our vision is to create a place where people live in harmony with nature and each other and are committed to an ecologically sound lifestyle.
We are dedicated to spread our knowledge of sustainable tropical farming, permaculture design and offer you a life far from the consumer minded world that’s occupying so many peoples’ lives.
In addition to our farm we have a numerous amount of projects in process and are looking for people with various skills as mentioned below.
Accommodations: four bed guest house with fully equipped kitchen. Eden shower and c
Please bring biodegradable soaps and shampoos with you as well as sleeping bags and mosquito nets.
We offer a rich breakfast including our own farm grown fruits and farm eggs, although we do not provide meals regularly.
We do however provide all of the staples for good healthy Panamanian style meals that you can cook for yourself in our guesthouse.

If you just think that facts are real
If you do not find your joy desiring the impossible
If you do not dare to dream
....then you are poor.
