We need 2 volunteers
Tamanco is a unique outpost in the heart of the Costa da Prata. We welcome travelers, wanderers, campers and adventurers from near and far away lands to enjoy the simplicity under the stars.
Accommodations range from yurts, tubos and cabanas to camping and caravanning.
A beautiful green oasis far away, in the middle of nowhere and basically near everything.
The campsite is set up spaciously and the vegetation provides plenty of variety: figs, mimosa, bougainvillea, fruit trees, cacti, etc. A swimming pool (salt) is nestled in the greenery. On the hill behind the campground, goats, pot-belly pigs, chicks, ducks and guinea pigs potter about like good friends in the children’s farm.
A Cantina Cafe & Eatery features home-made comfort food from local goods often prepared outside on open fire.
Work:
Ideally we are looking for positive and motivated people that is not opposed to getting their hands dirty! We have lots of different jobs that we need help with and work varies according the time of the year.
Jobs will include gardening works, maintenance, creative projects, general help tidying up the campground and acommodations now the busy holiday season is over.
We ask that our helpers be considerate, mature and have a good work ethic, as well as have a good sense of humor. Please be prepared to help as much as you can.
We enjoy sharing a cup of coffee or a beer with our volunteers, but just don't have time to show them round our local area and/or provide entertainment.
We provide lunch and food for the rest of the meals.

In an old VW campervan with little more than a rough plan to start a beach-bar, we drove down to Portugal in the Spring of 1998, under the impression that life over there would be simple, orderly and most of all less hectic.
We ended up in Outeiro do Louriçal, near Figueira da Foz where we found this campsite for sale.
Over the years we have tried to give our campsite its own identity, which is very different from the chaotic beach campsites where you trip over the numerous tent pegs.
The campsite is set up spaciously and the vegetation provides plenty of variety: figs, mimosa, bougainvillea, fruit trees, cacti, etc. A swimming pool is nestled in the greenery.
A volunteer "Loft" which can accommodate 4 till 6 people.
The Loft has a fully equipped kitchen with fridge and stove, a lounge area and up the container separate sleeping areas are made to give some privacy at night.
You are free to come with your own car/motorhome swell or pitch your tent somewhere.
We will prepare lunch (or diner) and provide food for the rest of the meals
