We need 5 volunteers
We started this project as a couple living all ready in the area now a lot of friends are more involved and pop over now and then to give a hand or spend their holiday here.
When we arrived here.....there was nothing but a virgin piece of overgrown land and a bunch of ruins.....no road in, no electricity, water, sewage and no place to live in but just a stunning scenery to look at This is nearly 8 years ago and a lot has been done since, with our vision, hands and of course the incredible support of many volunteers that passed by over the years....
German, English, Spanish, French, Nederlands

Hello, we started la Solane as a couple nearly 8 years ago, both from Holland Living in the area already for quite some years. From very young I have done all kinds of projects and businesses, from being a nurse, to having a bar, restaurant, tea and lunchroom and running a building company. When I moved to France did an adult farming school and became a farmer.
La Solane is the second project in France and it's a wonderful but intense thing to start a place like this from scrap. We like the work with volunteers, specially when they are interested in this place and come to gain experience and are enthusiastic. You have to realise that creating a place like this is not for the money, if we would count our time and effort.....we'd better get a normal job, it's the urge to create a beautiful place, a little paradise , in one of the most secluded and beautiful spots in Europe.
It all depends with how many we are and in which season we live....In winter or when it's cold we will be all in comfy places. Spring , summer and early autumn we are usually with a few more and accommodation will be a in caravan or when it really gets busy we'll put up a tent with a good mattress
Breakfast you prepare for yourself in our kitchen ( we are usually much earlier up
Lunch and dinner we organise all together. We basicly cook vegetarian with sometimes (separate) fish.
We like to eat healthy and well and think that providing good food is the minimum we can do for the positive input from our volunteers.
