We need 10 volunteers
We are located in the heart of the Ida Mountains in Turkey. We are starting a really exciting eco village project in a protected area, situated right at the boundaries of the national park Kazdaglari Milli Parki.
We are building a space for living in nature on the path to well-being, creativity and freedom, without compromising respect to the environment. We want to offer people the opportunity of rediscovering their roots, to re-interact with nature; and to outshine the individualistic dimension of modern societies.
Doğalı Project currently manages about 90 thousand square meter of prime, uncontaminated and good quality agricultural land on the northern face of the Kaz Mountains in Bayramiç, Çanakkale in NW Turkey.
We aim to diversify into agriculture, food processing, eco-tourism and education, with the ultimate objective of creating a long term residence for our community.
It carries out work in the field of permaculture with the aim of preserving and supporting biodiversity. It also encourages regional development by creating a new sustainable system that promotes local production of value added commodities based on environmentally friendly approach to agriculture. Renewable energy and energy efficiency is a priority, as well as ecological architecture.
So far, we have about 20 sheeps (among them 10 new born!), three horses, two shepherd dogs...
We are looking for volunteers in order to finish the cobwood houses that is already started, to keep going with other constructions or any kind of needed furniture, but also for people to help with the animal cares, with all kind of gardening tasks...
People of the project speak french, english, turkish and german. We have one friend of us living there all year around and the other partners keeps coming and going, as well as our project friends that are coming to help when they can.

Atilla speaks english german and turkish ! Most of the time our french speakers are around (Minas&Alix;)
We are several people in this project to be often in the mountains : Atilla, Minas, Selçuk, Alix...
But Atilla is definitely THE one as he lives there already all year long.
Atilla is retired, from Austria, speaking fluently english and turkish. Really creative and ingenious, he knows a lot about everything, a specialist of knowledge, a horse whisperer and a permaculture teacher all in one. From wood working, from construction to permaculture through natural kitchen (he used to be a Chef -the first vejetaryan chef in Vienna! - and a hors-pair bike messenger), atilla loves to share his knowledge. He knows of course a lot about botanic and gardenning.
More than everything, he loves horses and does everything he can for their well-being.
We have a really big Yurt where you can share space with other volunteers, we can provide some curtains separation for more intimacy. Or you can bring your own tent. A dome house is going to be setted up in may and it will provide some separated rooms.
We all participate to the meals preparations and eat together! We are really crazy about eating good food of prime quality so you will be lucky to taste some of the best products from the area.
